Therapeutic Essential Oils
Clients regularly see a decrease in stress and anxiety levels when therapeutic essential oils such as
Lavender are combined with traditional drug addiction counseling services.
Therapeutic essential oils have been used for hundreds of years to help reduce stress, promote healing and elevate the mood. Many of our clients suffering from substance abuse related issues find that the combination of traditional outpatient counseling sessions and application of calming therapeutic essential oils decreases their withdrawal symptoms and curbs cravings to use.
J.G. Regnier has begun using therapeutic essential oils to reduce some clients anxiety and stress levels where applicable. The essential oils are not a replacement for traditional medication, they are simply a supplement to traditional counseling services. In many cases clients that would otherwise not qualify for a medical diagnoses of an anxiety or stress related disorder do experience elevated levels of stress associated with the transition into sobriety. Many relapses occur because of the discomfort client’s experience during this crucial time in their recovery. Essential oils along with a healthy diet and exercise can quieten the addict’s mind. Thereby allowing them to get through the critical early stages of sobriety and increase their chance to experience long term recovery.
Clients are not required to participate in the use of therapeutic essential oils, but for some clients their use can be a breakthrough in their recovery. Counseling & Psychology Services believes in using the latest counseling techniques to give their clients the greatest chance of successful, long-term abstinence from drugs and alcohol related problems.
